College Admission Exams
The California State University (CSU) and the University of California (UC) no longer use ACT/SAT examinations in determining admission eligibility. Students may submit their exam scores as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll at the university. Some private and out-of-state schools do still require entrance exams to determine eligibility for admission.
Pacheco High School offers the SAT School Day, the PSAT/NMSQT (which can qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship Program and other scholarships) and the PSAT 10 on campus at no cost to students. We encourage students to take the PSAT 10 during their sophomore year, the PSAT/NMSQT during their junior year and the SAT school day during the spring of their junior year as well as during the fall of the students senior year. Students may take the SAT more than once, you should report your highest total/composite score from a single sitting to the university.
